Hiring Plan Analytics reports on the number of positions filled vs positions open for a particular time period. This tool helps hiring managers and talent acquisition leaders to track their teams' progress against hiring targets. build hiring plans and track progress against those plans. Switch between present and past timelines to analyze and predict performance on time-to-hire and time-to-start and percentage of hires starting on time.

This dashboard can answer a number of questions, including:

  • How are headcount plans for this period distributed?
  • How are we performing against our plan so far?
  • Which recruiter is closing the most hires on time?
  • Does time-to-hire look similar for various locations?
  • Are there any jobs or hiring managers that struggle with hiring on time?

Results of the Hiring Plan Analytics dashboard are determined by:

  • The date period that was selected.
  • Each candidate's Hire Date (the date they were confirmed as Hired in SmartRecruiters) and Actual Start Date (chosen when the candidate is hired).
  • Each position's Target Start Date and Open Date, which are chosen when the position is added to a job.
  • That new hire's Actual Start Date falls outside of the period chosen for the report.

Hiring process graph

The hiring process graph displays all positions at your company and sorts them into three categories:

Filled

A filled position meets each of three conditions:

  • Its Target Start Date falls within the period chosen for the report.
  • A candidate was hired for the position during the period.
  • That new hire's Actual Start Date is within the period.

Open

An Open position meets each of two conditions:

  • Its Target Start Date falls within the period chosen for the report.
  • No one was hired for that position or someone was hired on a date outside of the period chosen for the report.

Hired

A hired position meets each of three conditions:

  • Its Target Start Date falls within the period chosen for the report.
  • Someone was hired for that position during the period chosen for the report.
  • That new hire's Actual Start Date is after the period.

Group-by table

The group-by table lists all positions in the report and sorts them in different groups to provide visibility into the timeliness of hires:

Time-to-hire

Time-to-hire is defined as the number of days between a position's Open Date and the Hire Date for the candidate hired for that position. Thus, Time-to-hire only includes positions that are Filled or Hired. The number shown in the report is the average time-to-hire for all positions in the report.

Time to start

Time-to-start is measured as the number of days between the Position Open date and the date that the new hire starts.

Filled on-time

A position is filled on-time when a new hire for that position starts on or before the Target Start Date for that position. The percentage shown in the report is defined as:

((number positions filled on-time) / (total number of filled positions)) x 100

To sort positions in a different way, just choose one of the groups in the list.
