Edit job ad

If you need to update a job's ad(s), you can do so from either the Jobs list, or that job's profile.

Edit the default ad

Editions:
  • Smartstart
  • Corporate
  • Global

To edit a job's default ad:

  1. Click Jobs at the top of SmartRecruiters.
  2. Find the job in the Jobs list. 
  3. Select Edit Job from the actions menu:
  4. Go through the Job Posting wizard and make changes. 

This method also works for jobs with only one ad.

Edit a job's additional ads

To edit an ad other than the primary ad:

  1. Click Jobs at the top of SmartRecruiters.
  2. Find and click on the name of the job in the Jobs list. 
  3. Click the Job Ad tab.
  4. Find the additional ad in the list, and click Edit.
  5. Go through the Job Editing wizard and make changes. Since most of the job's details are associated with its default ad, you will only be able to edit the text of an additional ad and then purchase paid job postings on the Advertise page.

You can also use this method to edit the default ad: just click Edit Job for that ad. 

Editing a posted job ad

You can edit a job ad in SmartRecruiters at any time. However, once you’ve posted a job ad to a board, SmartRecruiters will not automatically update the ad on the board if you make edits in SmartRecruiters. You'll need to repost the ad.

  • For jobs posted to the free job aggregators, you can simply republish the ad
  • Paid boards will most likely charge you again for reposting an edited ad. You can either purchase a new post in SmartRecruiters, or contact the board(s) to ask them to update the posted ad.

Always double-check your job ads for accuracy and grammar before purchasing posts on paid boards.
