Push Notifications

Hiring Team users using the Mobile Hiring App can now receive Candidate Review Push Notifications to iOS and Android when there are changes to a Candidate Hiring Step for jobs. This is enables for Hiring Teams to stay even more up-to-date with candidates who progress in their jobs, whether at home or on-the-go.

How to Find It

Once updated to the latest version of the Mobile Hiring App, users can verify that Push Notifications are turned on. The Mobile Hiring App should prompt the user to allow its Push Notifications.

Users can always manage Push Notifications on/off states through the Notifications Settings for iOS and Android respectively, which allows notification control on an app-by-app basis. The Mobile Hiring App will be listed here. Learn more about notification management on mobile operating systems below.

How to Use It

When enabled, Push Notifications will appear to the iOS or Android home screens and in the Notification Centers. They will display the following information about the Candidate Hiring Step

  1. Hiring (app name)

  2. Hiring Stage (for the particular Hiring Step)

  3. Detail (includes the REF ID and portion of the title; candidate names are NOT included to preserve privacy)

How the notifications display depends on the mobile operating system. iPhone / iOS and Android have slightly different notification display systems and rules. Some examples are shown below.

iOS displays one card per notification instance, as managed by iOS. Clicking into any of the individual cards will take the user to the candidate application within the mobile Hiring App.

Android displays one card for a single candidate notification instance. Clicking into this card will take the user to the candidate application within the mobile Hiring App.

Android displays a grouped card for changes to more than one candidate. Clicking into this card will take the user to a list of all the candidates (grouped for the card) for review.

In this example case, it would show two candidates.

Currently, Push Notifications are not in sync with the Bell Notifications within the Mobile Hiring App.
