Withdrawing an application

In the Candidate Portal, candidates have the ability to:

  • Withdraw a single application from a company.
  • Withdraw all applications from a company.
  • Delete their profile at the company.
  • Delete their Candidate Portal account and all information associated with that account.

 Hiring team members with full access to the job can also mark the candidate as withdrawn.

Withdraw one application

To withdraw one application:

  1. In the candidate portal, click My Applications in the left-hand navigation menu.MyApplications.png
  2. In the list of companies, find that company and click on the application.
  3. Click View Options at the bottom of the page.ViewOptions_CP.png
  4. In the popup, select Withdraw this application from the list.WithdrawOneApplication.png
  5. Check the options to confirm awareness of the consequences of withdrawing. 
  6. Confirm the action.

Once completed, SmartRecruiters will mark the application as Withdrawn in the Candidate Portal and in the company’s account. Members of the hiring team for that job will see that the application was withdrawn. However, they’ll still have access to that application, and will retain the application's information.

Withdraw all applications 

To withdraw all applications at one company:

  1. In the candidate portal, click My Applications in the left-hand navigation menu.MyApplications.png
  2. In the list of companies, find that company and click on the application.
  3. Click View Options at the bottom of the page.ViewOptions_CP.png
  4. In the popup, select Withdraw all applications at [Company] from the list.WithdrawAllApplications.png
  5. Check the options to confirm awareness of the consequences of withdrawing. 
  6. Confirm the action.

Once completed, SmartRecruiters will mark all applications to this company as Withdrawn in the Candidate Portal and in the company’s account. Members of the hiring team for those jobs will see that applications were withdrawn. However, they’ll still have access to those application, and will retain their information. 

Withdraw as recruiter

Hiring team members with full access to the job can also mark the candidate as withdrawn from the candidates profile.

  1. On the candidate's application, open the Application Actions menu.MarkAsWithdrawn.png
  2. Select Mark as Withdrawn.
  3. Choose an optional reason for withdrawal. Reasons are reported in the Applicant Flow and Applications reports.
  4. Click Confirm to process the withdrawal.

SmartRecruiters will then follow your company's data retention rule (if one is set up) for deleting the candidate's data.
