The easiest way to refer a friend, a coworker, or anyone who'd make a great candidate for a job is the Referrals portal. Just log in to your SmartRecruiters account, open the user menu, and click My Referrals:
Review jobs
When you first open the Referrals portal, you'll see a list of open and active jobs at your company.
Scroll through the list to browse, or search by title to find a job. When you've found the right job for your referral, click Refer.
Provide referral
There are two ways to get credit for your referrals:
- Enter the referral's info, or
- Share the job's ad.
If you already have specific person in mind, just enter their info into the form.
You'll need to provide:
- the candidate's first and last name, a valid email address,
- some kind of recommendation on their skills, or why they're a fan and a description of your relationship to help the recruiter and/or hiring manager on the job to gauge how well you know the candidate. This description will show up on the candidate's profile.
You don't need to provide a resume, but if you have one handy, click Attach Resume to upload it.
When you're done, click Make Referral to submit the referral's info. They'll receive an email from SmartRecruiters:
Dear David,
Jacob referred you to the position of Account Manager at Acme Holdings. If you're interested in the position, you can apply by viewing the job ad here https://smrtr.io/4bK8N and clicking "I'm interested".
By following the link and applying to the job, the candidate will be able to provide any missing information and a more complete resume, LinkedIn profile, and more.
You'll be able to track your referrals from this page as well.
Share referral link
If you don't have a specific person in mind, or want to share the job and get credit for anyone who applies through that ad, click Referral Link to get a shareable URL for the job ad:
The URL is unique to you. When someone applies to the job through this ad, SmartRecruiters will recognize the unique ID, and attribute the referral to you.
